Sketches

I did a bunch of instinctual sketches, following my mind and my feelings.

I found interesting how at the start I was following a more minimalistic and expressionistic way of working, with straight lines, simple shapes and movement / balance / weight as the main features. Using only black and white.

As soon as I started using colours, I noticed how I immediately wanted to fill the space, creating the space itself with the colour and the shapes. The lines and the shapes became more and more curve and organic, changing completely the work itself and how I approached it.

I kept the expressionistic aspect at the start, moving further away from it sketch after sketch.

At the end I was doing drawings of people and funny subjects.

Galleries

I went to three galleries:

SINK_VESSEL by TEGH and BAW
Photosoc
Post-War Barbican

The first exhibition was all sound based and I loved how since the viewing aspect wasn’t needed they put it in a massive dark room with four chairs and some rugs.

The mixing of the sound work by Shahin Entezami and the train was very strong since everything was trembling.

I need to understand how certain sounds create such a strong response and set of feelings. Sound is the most direct and instant form of art and way of communicating something, I’m curious If this aspect could be transposed in visual art as well. Maybe some sort of temporal art (?) that exists for just a second and then it disappears.

The second exhibition was very bad. Photography club of the Imperial College London. Didn’t say anything to me.

It was fun seeing the students all dressed up for their degree.

The exhibition at Barbican was very interesting. I discovered some new artists like:

William Scott
Gillian Ayres

I noticed how I’m more and more attracted to sculpture and the abstract, I don’t know if it’s a good thing, but I think I’ll follow it.

The gallery showed a group of works all based around the concept of Post-War (WW2) art, so how artists at first tried transforming the human figure and the atrocities that they “created” into something beautiful and impactful.

It was interesting seeing the different approaches through time and experiences. How someone went for a more “abstract” approach but full of meaning and sad feelings, and someone transformed the brutalities that happened in something beautiful and full of colour keeping the horrible feeling of death and flesh, still using an abstract look.

Digital Work & Drums

Today I tried working with digital media again but using video. I would like to film myself doing actions, work using blur and without altering the video itself.

I tried creatin/altering some videos, I used After Effect to edit a singular part of a video, extracted a man walking as a metaphor of “The Human” and then altered him with different effects.

Some of the results were quite good but I realised when I was finished that I don’t feel connected with my digital work as I am with my material work. I see digital media as something non-real, could disappear at any time and it’s not connected with the real world but with a sort of “second dimension”.

I want to concentrate more on my physical work, sculpture, painting and drawing (maybe).

Transpose the digital work to the real world.

After college I went to a gig where they performed drums and I felt completely sucked in, I never felt this mindless, just following the motions, the body. Completely removing the mind from the body.

Rachel Jones

This morning I went to Chisenhale gallery, there was “say cheeeese” exhibition by Rachel Jones and I was very happy to see that she was there as well talking with some people about her work.

I had the chance to talk with her and it was amazing to discover how charming and unformal art can be. Recently I was getting stuck with the overwhelming feeling of having to make something completely different from what I’m used to, something hard and difficult.

Talking with her helped me understand how art can be easy and instinctual, you follow your mind, your head and what makes you feel good.

It’s weird because I am still scared about what to do, but I’m a lot more relaxed about the fact that I can do what I love.

I have ideas and I want to develop all of them, but as soon as I do something that doesn’t fulfils me fully I’m sad, I feel like I didn’t achieve anything, and I just get stressed.

I just realised that if I had the chance to represent the new generation of “human” I would not know how to do it. I find incredibly confusing how fast everything is changing and moving. It looks like everyone is in a rush to do something they don’t even understand properly, without thinking about the consequences.

13 - 03 - 2022

Sad & cold

Today the house is freezing, the boiler is broken and so the heating is completely off.

I spent the whole day wanting to make something but never doing something productive. I ended up watching a very bad film and thinking more and more about Maya.

I know why I feel like this, and I know how to fix it, the only problem is that apparently I can’t work from home and I’m too lazy to go out and buy the stuff that I need.

I need to buy more paint, brushes, oil pastels, concrete and pewter.

I need to find a big rock to make a sculpture out of it.

I also need to try new things, new ways of “painting” and new ways of showing what I feel. Expressionism is overdone, needs an evolution. Maybe a new media needs to be created, something direct, something that can allow me to create with and without control (almost like long distance painting).

I saw a video of a “robot” painting, I want to try and create something similar but removing the robot.

Art created by events, completely out of control of the artist.

14 - 03 - 2022

Swinging Brush

Today I wanted to try distancing myself from the creative process attaching the brush to a thread, I then swinged the brush towards the piece of paper that I’ve hang on the wall.

The results I was getting were cool, but I feel like I could do more to distance myself from the painting itself. I was interesting when other people wanted to try and have a swing at the brush, completely removing me from the creative process.

I might try and create a piece of work where the outcome is completely out of my control, letting other people do it or “creating” some sort of method where I don’t have to interact with the work itself (almost as a commission).

I thought about dragging a piece of wood (or other materials) around London and then see the result as a work.

I still want to create some sort of stone sculpture, but sadly I don’t have the tools to make one, I need to find a stone big enough to be used as a base.

After college I went to an interesting talk in Chelsea, that was held by two film/video directors. They tried to explain how their mental process works and how to get involved in what you love. Even if honestly now that I rethink about it, I don’t see many interesting pieces of information. One of the few things that I got from it is how you must try and step out of your comfort zone, try and create something original visually and conceptually.

This goes against the previous thoughts I had about how to create a piece of art now.

I need to think about new things, conceptual and technical wise.

I also got Covid, and I feel bad, feels like a flu. Hopefully tomorrow I feel better so I can try and make something.

15 - 03 - 2022

Slade & walk

Slade rejected me.

I feel like I have completely lost inspiration, I’m not even sure this is what I want to do in life.

I went for a long walk, tried to clear up my mind. During the walk I found a church near Whitechapel, so I went inside, and I found a group of men and women waiting for a talk about “confidence” and being able to sound and act more like a “master”. I find all of that stupid and useless, but that’s just me. I stayed in the church and prayed for my grandma, my grandpa, my brother, my mother, and my father. It felt weird, has been so long since I last went to church and prayed for someone, usually I just look at the paintings and the architectural and symbolical aspect of it, but this time I got in just to pray. I get now why people like doing it, it’s a weird sensation feeling connected with dead or far away people, like you could influence and help them in some way. This feeling made me feel a little better, even if I wanted to cry really bad.

I thought about representing this connection. it’s interesting thinking that praying has been around for so long, while doing it you connect with other generations, other people, and different times. It’s almost like a telephone but way far more powerful.

The act of praying itself is an interesting gesture, putting your hands together and closing your eyes, sometimes putting the hands on your forehead, kneeling. Such a small thing makes you “connected” with the entire space and time.

I want to try and do a series of drawings showing this posture, these gestures. This is way behind technology, far more powerful in some ways (more universal).

After getting out of church I kept walking, trying to find the way back home (I left everything except the keys at my house). I felt lost and I liked it, the feeling of knowing that everyone that knows you doesn’t know where you are. No expectations.

I also had a call with my mother before the walk, and she told me I need to balance my life more, I’m getting to attached to Maya and I noticed how I have no friends at all here in London. I know some people, but I wouldn’t consider them as friends.

I’m still a bit confused but I can manage the feelings a bit better. Right now I’m confused on what to do.

Also, I didn’t feel like telling Maya since she was at a funeral of a friend of hers.

16 - 03 - 2022

Clueless

Today I don’t know what to do at all, I spend more than half of the day in bed. I had breakfast at 12:40 and now I don’t know what to do. I wanted to go to the Damien Hirst exhibition at Gagosian but having covid I don’t know if that’s a good idea. I want to do something but at the same time I feel divided, I have covid so in theory I should stay home, but the covid restrictions have been removed so technically I could go anywhere. Maya says I should quarantine so I avoid spreading it, my flatmates tell me I can go out.

I’m probably going to college and see if I can make something, then if I feel like it I can go to Gagosian.

I hate staying at home, it feels like I’m wasting time / opportunities.

I’m still clueless about what to do for this FMP, I’ve done some paintings but I’m not completely happy with them, I would love to do some sculpture, but I don’t have the materials.

I might inform myself on how to cast with concrete so I can make something.

Also, I found some rocks that I can use to make sculptures with.

I went to college so I could some work, I wanted to see if I could come up with something. The results weren’t amazing… I just got nervous and smashed a lot of stuff, I wanted to show through my work what I was feeling but I think it got out of hand.

I liked what I did with the first drawing, I threw a “wooden spear” at it, and it passed right through.

I like how the shape of the cut is linear and it creates some sort of composition.

I still feel bad about Slades although.

17 - 03 - 2022

Damien Hirst - CSM - Camberwell

In the morning I went to the Damien Hirst exhibition at Gagosian gallery.

It was interesting seeing how strong it can be, so unusual. The thing that shocked me the most is how seeing those animals opened up, some which I’ve never seen in person, didn’t made me feel much. After realising that the rest of the exhibition was almost completely overshadowed by this feeling, not being surprised, amazed, at those animals and figures was incredibly strange to me.

I left the gallery full of questions about myself, my experiences, my path.

After that I went to Camberwell Library and worked digitally, creating “Fake News”, I wanted to experiment how really it can be to create something that looks real but it’s not. How easy it is to fool someone what makes something real look real.

The outcome was interesting, I’m not sure it looks real, but it does the job.

After that I borrowed a bunch of ArtBasel books, I still need to read them but I’m going to use them to inspire myself, I’ve been quite stuck lately.

After that I went to an open studio event at CSM, where they showed the work of year 2 students, honestly, I didn’t find the works amazing, some of them were interesting, especially one that was clearly inspired by Jannis Kounellis.

I couldn’t concentrate too much on the works because I was developing a very strong headache. By the time we arrived back home I had to run in bed and try to sleep, I couldn’t keep my eyes open, I didn’t want to take drugs to feel better.

18 - 03 - 2022

Maya & Home

In the “morning” I woke up by a call from Maya asking if I wanted to meet her during lunch, I was a bit tired since the night before I had a quite strong headache, but I felt better, the weather that day was beautiful and I wanted to see her, so I dressed up and I went to see her.

I was a bit confused by her behaviour, she was kind of sad but not quite, she said that I was “distant”, which is ironic since she was the one that didn’t want me to be too close since I have covid. I didn’t mind, I found it funny.

After that I went back home and I passed the whole day home. I played the piano and I read quite a lot. I continued my text and then I wanted to send it to friends and family to get some feedback.

19 - 03 - 2022

Isolating

Today I stayed home all day, I didn’t mind at all since there was a nice weather and I could stay in the garden with the sun. I started reading all of the “Art Basel - Unlimited” books that I borrowed from the library, I took notes and I checked for artists online. I found some very interesting artists.

Especially two of them, one of which I already knew, and I realised he’s the one that ensiper me on the whole project that I’m doing.

Carsten Nicolai

Harun Farocki works using the themes of Videogames and Computer-generated image, and he says that they are replacing photography and the human itself in the world of art, since you can reproduce everything digitally nowadays there’s no need to use photography as a media anymore.

For now, this isn’t the case, but he also talks about how technology and videogames are used in war. How technology makes distances longer, eliminating the human aspect from war and creating some sort of indifference towards violence. Removing the cause from the effect.

The video: “Harun Farocki - Serious Games (Ernste Spiele)” shows it perfectly.

I want to see the series of videos that he made named “Parallels I-IV” but I can’t find them anywhere.

Trevor Paglen really shocked me with his exhibition named “BLOOM”. He’s basically working using the same concepts that I’m using for this project.

How AI is being developed to erase personal privacy, and how this influences the human psyche.

Another work that he did that I really liked is “Prototype for a Non-Functional Satellite (2014)”. He takes the saying “Art for the sake of Art” and uses it in space engineering.

How he takes something that was being used to create better maps for nuclear strikes, and see it only as an aesthetic object.

Michelangelo Pistoletto works with mirrors, and I found interesting one work in particular named “La Giuria” (1962 - 2005). It’s basically a mirror with a bunch of mans printed on top looking at the opposite direction that you’re looking, but if you look from the point of view of your reflection it looks like they’re observing you. They’re judging you.

From Matias Faldbakken I found interesting the prints that he does on different materials, like concrete, wood, or walls. It’s almost like a glitch effect or a deck of cards, he takes an image and multiplies it.

The sculptures that he does are also cool but not powerful enough.

Lee Ufang’s sculptures are incredibly powerful, especially in the series named “Relatum - Dialogue” (2009).

She puts a rock and some metal panels next to each other, I love the simplicity of the act, the way she creates something so strong visually and that conveys so many feelings together.

She tries to put the question “Which one is more natural? Which one has more possibilities?”. Almost like Isamu Noguchi in his latest work, she tries to create a new nature.

From Carsten Nicolai I liked the work named “Unidisplay”, it was a very big screen that showed a series of abstracted videos of objects moving in a linear horizontal motion. At the edge of the screen there were two big mirrors that made the screen look like it went on forever.

The Book

I spent the whole day reading a Stephen King book that I’m really enjoying, I didn’t think about the FMP until evening and then I wrote about the feeling of sadness in the text that I’m writing.

21 - 03 - 2022

Meditation & Friends

During the morning I wanted to try and make and abstraction of sculpture and the action of making art, trying to make it as abstract as possible. So I tried rearranging, I took all of the wooden panels that I found around London and I started making some sort of sculptures, it was fun working in this way, not knowing what could happened and knowing that after the sculpture is done you have to destroy it (dismantle it).

Another aspect that I found interesting was that the only thing keeping everything together was gravity and friction, like Noguchi’s sculptures.

After that I went seeing a couple of friends and they organised some sort of “meditation class”, it was interesting feeling the other’s heartbeat while holding hands, felt like a big human clock, knowing that each beat means that time is moving forward, and it can’t stop.

Later we talked about how art could make people more aware about climate change and nature, I concluded that the only thing that could make everyone make a real effort is a catastrophic event. Another thing that could work in the long term is teaching new generations this way of thinking that the world is dying, maybe teaching these things from the start is going to change something for the future generations.

We also drew what for us represents the present.

I met Archie, a friend of mine that goes to Slade, and we talked a lot about different art topics.

I really liked talking with him, made mi understand again why I love art and is the only thing that I can really do without never getting tired.

A very interesting concept we talked about was repetition, and he brought up graffiti, which is quite interesting because graffiti are everywhere and you almost don’t realise anymore, they become part of your life and they consequentially disappear.

We also talked about how we’re both trying to erase the body (ourselves) from the art itself, trying to remove the artist from his art. We both feel how technology is (or trying to) making the physical body secondary, we almost no longer need it, it’s just some sort of nerve at this point, but it’s becoming less and less necessary, technology is making it unnecessary.

Another interesting concept we thought about was how everything is just an object and has no values (money, concept, meaning) if it doesn’t have something behind it (if we don’t put a meaning). Art especially is just a bunch of mixed materials. Objects.

Someone lives forever through the remembering, leaving a memory, a concept, an idea.

22 - 03 - 2022

Holes & Pub

Today I felt particularly lost. I went to college to meet Maya and we talked for a bit, after that we sat with her friends, I didn’t mind it, but it reminded me of High-School which made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

After that I entered college and for the whole time I felt like an outsider, like I wasn’t meant to be there. We had a group crit where everyone talked about their work, it was interesting seeing what the others are making, especially one student who’s using webcam and cctv footage from another part of the world, and transforming it into stills and art.

When it was my turn, I realized that I’m very confused about what I’m doing, I need to bring my thoughts together and decide what my project is about, right now I have too many paths, I’m almost splitting my works in different directions.

Now I want to make more “spear paintings”, using rigid materials, a wooden spear and paint (or something else). Throwing the spear at the “canvas” and see the result.

I would like to try making a painting with concrete.

After college all the students went to the pub, I wanted to stay in the studio so I could work a bit more, but I felt lost and alone, so I went to the pub as well. I didn’t enjoy it that much, I still don’t understand why Maya and her friends like it.

After coming back home I started thinking.

Interview - Chelsea - Brain turned off

I met this girl that wants to interview me, I don’t know if I should trust her, her project seems cool but I’m not sure I’m the right pick.

She wants to take pictures of me and do a brief interview where I should talk about my background, what’s my art about and what brought me to work in this way.

The problem is that in the last couple of days I’ve been more than confused, I really don’t know what’s happening to my head, but basically, I constantly feel lost, like if my brain was switched off. I can’t think straight and every time I try and think about art and my project I can’t go further, I’m completely stuck.

The reality is that I don’t really know why I did most of the things that I’ve done.

After this meeting I went to Chelsea, where there was an open day. I had a look around, chatted with one of the possible future students, which was this old woman, about what we though so far about the place, I really enjoyed talking with her, I truly respect and admire her for choosing to study art at her age.

After all of that I went to Maya’s house, and we went for a walk. It’s strange how I was aware of the fact that my brain was almost completely off, I wasn’t thinking about my project, and it felt weird.

Anyway, I thought it would change after that day, so I ignored it.

I stayed at Maya’s for the night.

24 - 03 - 2022

Clueless

Today I went to college, I wanted to try and continue my project. The problem is that I still feel like my brain isn’t working in the right way, maybe is just laziness, but I don’t have ideas, I tried making something, but I hated the outcome.

It’s weird how I’m no longer able to identify what I do and don’t like, that reflects on my works as well, since I can no longer make things that I like.

It’s almost like I lost myself somewhere, something changed in my had and I can’t figure out what.

It’s very frustrating since I really need to do my project for the FMP, this is one of the last weeks that I have to finish it.

25 - 03 - 2022

Party & Realisations

I went to college feeling a bit relieved, the night before I found out on google that I’m “suffering” from brain fog, which is caused by lack of sleep, lack of food and high consumption of sugar, basically a description of me.

At least I knew why I was feeling so bad recently, not being able to focus on anything.

I chatted with one of my tutors explaining to him how I was feeling, and he told me I should focus more on the display of my work now instead of trying desperately to create new things. That helped since I kept having this feeling that I had to create more.

I still want to experiment, and I’m not even sure I’m happy with the things I’ve created so far, but I’ll try and concentrate more on the display.

After college I went back home, and Maya helped me helped me and my housemates clean the house and set it up for the party we were going to have that evening.

I find weird how girls don’t confront their problems directly, but instead they let it stagnate for a while before doing anything, if not nothing at all.

The party was fun. Max is super cool.

26 - 03 - 2022

Big dinner

This morning I had to clean up the whole house from the party that we had. I felt incredibly bad for not studying or doing research, I feel like I’m not putting enough effort into my project, I should study and care more about it, especially now that this is the last week.

I spent the day home reading then I went at Maya’s for dinner since her mum was having a big dinner for her birthday. It was amazing and her family is the best, I finally met Miles (Maya’s brother) and he’s very good at keeping conversation, making you feel included and being generally very sociable, Maya has the same thing were they’re incredibly good at interacting with people.

One of Maya’s cousins that was at dinner started talking about modern problems and technology, tv and politics, I immediately felt dragged into the conversation since my project is all about that. It was very interesting seeing how people that work in a different field perceive an artist, and I really liked the talk about new generations and kids being some sort of creature with endless possibilities.

I need to reorganize my project idea, I feel like it’s getting too vague in my head.

I’ll write about it, so I know what I’m really dealing with.

Human Data

I just discovered that a human produces 1.7MB of data per second, that means that each day (24h) we produce 146.88GB of data. It’s scary to think that with the modern technologies we can download that amount of data in a few minutes.

In theory someone could download one of our days and know exactly what we did that day. It’s even more frightening knowing that that is physical data which doesn’t get transposed into digital data, so the data that gets “shared” is even less. Big tech companies can read that data in a few milliseconds and use it to make their AI algorithms even faster. Our whole privacy doesn’t exist anymore and it’s scary seeing how little we acknowledge that.

We’re living not the post-privacy era

I also discovered how Facial recognition technology (FRT) can be used to understand everything about someone, from tastes in food, to sexual preferences.

Speaking about it with one of my housemates I understood what keeps everyone from worrying about it, they think that they have nothing to hide so that they can be safe from the “law” or any case of accusation (which by the way, anyone can be accused of something nowadays, doesn’t matter how innocent or guilty you are). This is a very limited way of thinking, very selfish as well I might add… but no, the way FRT can be used is not to discover your “secrets” but is to manipulate you in any way possible.

Uses of FRT:

Improved security in schools and airports
Location of missing people
Detection of rare diseases
Fighting against crime and corruption
Paying out pensions
Imposing age restrictions on online viewing of pornography
Limiting gambling addiction

Can intrude on privacy when used clandestinely

Another interesting thing is that Big Tech Companies try to get data from everyone, reaching complete knowledge so that they can use that data for marketing purposes.

Military and Governments wants to get total knowledge to gain power, control, and security. One way or the other the consequence is the complete loss of privacy.

Serpentine & New Media in Art

This afternoon I went to the Serpentine gallery to check it out, I was curious to see the building itself more than the exhibition inside. It was cool.

I’m reading “New Media in Art - Michael Rush”, very interesting book that shows the

possibilities of the relatively new medias like videos and photographs.

I found interesting one part where the author says “Surveillance, a type of spying, has interested artists and fascists alike since the birth of video technology. It is a strange alliance between the techniques of Law Enforcement Control Systems and Art.”

After Milan

I stayed in Milan for a week, it was interesting going back and see my home-city as a tourist, especially the galleries and the churches.

I visited Santa Maria presso San Satiro which is a church that has a Bramante’s affresco, I was fascinated by how Bramante could trick the human eye in perceiving depth. This made me think on how easy it could be to trick humans now with the right amount of effort and the right tech tools. Especially digitally, now it’s incredibly easy to generate fake news and to spread them as true, especially if the one that sees it is lazy or ignorant enough to not check if the news is real or not.

I also started noticing what could be changed and how, news, websites, simple gallery tickets and so much more, if you know how it starts you know how to change it, you just need to find the origin of something.

This led me to think how crazy it is that everything on the internet is there and the only thing separating us to have access to it is just encryption (passwords - codes), but everything is connected, you can feel it, but you can’t have it.

I also defined my project, I finally know what it is about, I just need some adjustments in the display since I learned that a piece of art needs to be the thing in between the piece itself and the meaning behind it, that space is the real artwork (the Totality - the feelings and the thoughts that it generates when you look at it).

How do you generate that space?

The project is now about the temporality of objects, people, and events. How digital technology is erasing the temporality from everything recording it, putting it in storage and having it always at our disposal. How this brings us to think in a weird way where we sometimes forget how important the present is.

I also went back to the Monumentale Cemetery, it was nice walking in that place again. I understood how lucky I am being able to know a place like that since here in London I didn’t see anything like it.

I visited Fondazione Prada, which is a very important gallery in Milan, the exhibition they were showing (USELESS BODIES? - Elmgreen & Dragset) was incredibly connected to my project. Technology and the human body, how the digital world makes our material body secondary, we don’t need it anymore to live. We can do everything digitally.

The work itself was incredibly strong, it started with a group of sculptures picturing the human body in different styles and in different eras, it was interesting seeing how the artist managed to create this feeling of “futile” in the human itself, as an object.

Another interesting work that I saw was a piece where you walked into a room with a tilted painting and then entered another room with a projection of that same room, the projection is delayed by a couple of seconds, so you see yourself walking along the previous room. This reminded me of my own project, which made me feel both happy and disappointed.

I also went to Pirelli Hangar Bicocca, my favourite gallery space, situated in a huge hangar, the space makes you feel small in comparison to the space.

There were two exhibitions going on, one by Anicka Yi, and one by Steve M^cQueen, both incredibly strong, especially the second one.

The first one was a mix of biology and art, while the second one was more visual and audio, a series of very strong videos accompanied by incredible sounds (even the sound of the film rolling in the projector). The best video was the one shown in a private room, like a small cinema, the short film showed a group of people going underground to extract something (could be diamonds).

12 - 04 - 2022

Work and Horror

Today was a strange day, I started full of energy, wanting to do stuff and ready to do everything to make it happen. I went and bought a saw, some nails, and a tape measurer so I can make the “box” that will contain the computer, as soon as I came back home I started working on it, but after a while for some reason I stopped to watch a movie. I spent the rest of the day watching horror movies.

Even while watching the movies, I knew I had to do my work, but I was attracted to the movies, I watched 5 of them, one after the other.

Now I feel like I didn’t accomplish anything today and the call I had with my father didn’t help much, I felt like I am betraying him. The most annoying aspect is that I keep telling myself that tomorrow I will do everything, like some kind of relief.

Now I was trying to do some research about temporality and the fact that technology is making us forget how important moments are, I didn’t find much.

I should go to sleep.

Box

Today I continued building the box that should contain the computer for my FMP, now I just need to know when to borrow the computer and the cables.

I tried doing some research, but my lazy brain keeps distracting, I keep waiting for Maya I think, like I need her to be here to continue my studies, this is very bad since I should be able to do everything without the need of anyone else. I need to stop distracting and do something.

I keep thinking about this idea that I have, making a piece using just text, a bit like the one I did for “You’re staring at a piece of wood”. The sentence I would use is “Don’t stop Progress” or “Don’t go against Progress”, I need to think about it. Also, I thought about using the video I found about the mother using VR to see her dead daughter with the sentence overlayed on top, or simply put next to it. I’m trying to explore the space between the piece of art and his meaning, it’s very difficult since it has to do with feelings, it’s something you feel, not something you read.

Maybe I just need to make it and see how it works, I need to make instead of just thinking about it. Create a feeling.
